Frequently Asked Questions
What is Integrated Physical Therapy?
Integrated physical therapy is a holistic approach which combines conventional physical therapy techniques with complimentary and alternative practices. The goal of integrated physical therapy is to help patients achieve optimal health and wellness by addressing all aspects of their well-being. This approach recognizes the interconnectedness of the human body and seeks to treat the whole person rather than just addressing symptoms. By integrating different assessment and treatment techniques, Acclivity Integrated Physical Therapy discovers the root cause of pain and dysfunction which helps patients heal more quickly, reduce pain and inflammation, improve mobility and function in order to enhance overall health and well-being.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
The payments you make may be reimbursable by your insurance company under your out of network physical therapy benefits; the exact percentage depends upon your plan. Due to the complex nature of insurance claims and reimbursement, we make no promises as to whether you will receive reimbursement. Per your request, we can provide a Superbill to you for this submission.
We recognize and appreciate how valuable your time is. The results of eliminating third party payers have proved superior as patients are not only able to achieve their goals more quickly but to surpass expectations within the same time frame, or sooner! This is due to the ability to provide quality care for every minute of every session with the patient.
With the ability to maximize our time together also comes the reduced need to see patients as frequently compared to a traditional model. Rather than commuting to a physical therapy clinic 2-3 times a week, time for the patient is saved by a Doctor of Physical Therapy coming to you typically one time a week, resulting in less time taking the patient away from doing the things they love, providing for their families or spending time with the people who mean the most to them. Our goal is to add quality to your life, never taking you away from what is important!
While we do collect our fees directly from our patients, we can provide an itemized superbill to submit to their insurance company. By submitting this, you may be able to be reimbursed a percentage of the cost you have paid from your insurance company.

This model further assists us in the ability to continue to treat patients with one on one attention, individualized treatment plans and with the highest standard of care by our Doctor of Physical Therapy. Dictations by the insurance companies regarding type of care, appointment approvals and reimbursement rates force many physical therapy clinics to treat multiple patients at one time, reducing the quality of care and amount of time spent with each patient as well as force clinics to utilize therapy assistants or therapy techs to complete care. This will never be the case at Acclivity Integrated Physical Therapy as your experience and outcomes are a priority to us!

Why would physical therapy help an equestrian rider?
It is common to associate physical therapy with something that comes with recovering from a major injury or accident, and not something most horseback riders consider using as a beneficial tool in their riding. While physical therapy can help you with pain (and let's face it, as equestrians we all have some sort of pain we deal with on a daily basis), it can also help you with your riding and performance. Sitting crooked, being stronger or more balanced on one side or going one direction can all be indicators that you may benefit from physical therapy. By improving your ability as a rider, it can reflect on your horse and enhance both of your performance. On the other hand, if you have been suffering with pain for years and ignoring it as we always put our horses first, there can be help for you too! As an equestrian myself, I can use my training as a Physical Therapist and knowledge as a rider to help you feel and ride better!
